Do I really need Dashcams?

Absolutely! Here’s why:

Aren’t my drivers going to quit over having a Dashcam installed?

It’s not likely. Most companies either have Dashcams already installed or are looking to do so soon.

Additionally, if the company communicates well in advance and addresses driver concerns prior to installation, the drivers seem to be much more comfortable (especially if they don’t perceive the Dashcams as a ‘tool’ to punish them).

Is GPS tracking included in the Dashcam?
Yes, our Dashcams show the location of all of your vehicles on a map. Plus, we offer a full suite of GPS tracking features and alerts: Speeding, Idling, Hard Braking, Hard Stop, Hard Turn, Excessive Acceleration, Shock, Geofence, etc.
Can I have ONLY the road footage recorded, not the driver?
Yes, we can deactivate the Driver facing camera if that’s what you want. If you decide you want to turn it back on, just let us know.
Do you have contracts?

No, we have a ‘No Service Contract’ and ‘No Autorenewal’, ‘No Gotcha’ policy, so you’re not locked in long term; we earn your business every day.

Do you offer ‘live’ video?
Yes, you can log into your account and view your driver in real time. You can also record video on-demand and download the video for future review.
Do accident videos get automatically uploaded to the ‘cloud’?
Yes, our system is event driven. So, the Dashcam automatically recognizes a shock, hard braking and/or accident occurring. It then auto-uploads 30 seconds before and after the accident to the cloud so you can view the video on your Smartphone, Tablet and Computer. Videos can also be requested ‘on-demand’, while longer video lengths can also be requested and downloaded as needed.
How long do you store the videos in the ‘cloud’?

We store event videos in the ‘cloud’ for ninety days (50% longer than the industry standard Dashcam service provider).

Additionally, there is an SD Card in the Dashcam, providing an additional level of back-up video recording. This SD Card can be manually removed to review and download all videos as well.

What happens when the SD Card is full?
The Dashcam automatically records over the oldest video information stored on the card. For a typical fleet that process begins after 30 days. But we do offer larger SD Card sizes for longer storage if desired. Just call us for more details.
Can I download ‘cloud stored’ videos to my computer?
Yes, you can download any video stored in the ‘cloud’, and there’s no limit to the number of videos you can download. You can also remotely request videos on-demand.
What kind of alerts and reports do you offer?

We offer two varieties of alerts and reports, GPS and Video with Artificial Intelligence.

  • GPS alerts are associated with vehicle activity (see a list of some of the GPS alerts above).
  • Video AI alerts are based on driver activity (requires activation of the driver-facing dashcam) : distracted driving, not wearing a seat belt, sleepiness/head-bobbing while driving, having an accident, etc. These AI events are then processed in the Dashcam (known as ‘edge processing’) for the fastest alert notification available.
Do you offer text alerts? Can I customize them?
Yes, alerts can be customized to be sent via text and/or email and segmented by reporting responsibility and/or geography. So, only people who need to be alerted are alerted.
Do you offer ‘Facial Recognition’ to auto-assign a driver to a vehicle?
Yes, our Dashcams are so advanced they will follow a driver as they drive different vehicles throughout their day. This allows you to track each driver’s activity, without requiring them to manually use a ‘key fob’.
Do you offer a ‘Driver Scorecard’ report?
Yes, we track the vehicle activity separately from the driver’s activity (requires activation of the driver-facing dashcam). This allows you to have multiple drivers in a vehicle in a day and tie their individual activity to the Driver Scorecard Report. This report provides a ranking of drivers according to their behavior and allows you to focus on specific driving behaviors that need coaching.
Do you have an App for my Smartphone and Tablet?
Yes, we offer full Smartphone and Tablet Apps for Apple and Android systems.
